Below are some answers to important questions you may have about the race.
How much does it cost to register?
It costs $75 to register for the race – which includes a festival ticket and tech shirt. We suggest you try to raise at least $200 for the University of Maryland Cancer Center and get a better race premium! The Kids Fun Run (one mile) is $10 per child.
What time does the race start?
The Half Marathon will begin at 7:00 a.m. and the Kid’s One Mile Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m.
Where does the race start and finish?
The race begins and ends at the Timonium Fairgrounds.
Is there parking available?
Yes! There is plenty of free parking at the Fairgrounds.
If I register for the race, will I get to see the concert and have access to the post-race festival?
Yes, all Half Marathon participants will get free entry to the post-race festival.
Can my friends and family attend the post-race festival?
Yes, friends and family are encouraged to come!
Do I have to fundraise?
Fundraising is not required, but strongly suggested! You will get a better race premium and you will be raising money for the battle against cancer.
Will my friends and family who sponsor me get a tax-deduction?
Yes, all contributions are 100% tax deductible. Each contributor will be sent a tax receipt for their records.
Will there be food after the race?
Runners will be treated to a variety of food and beverages after the race. There will be more food available for purchase after the race and the post-race festival (and plenty of free samples too!).
What is the course like?
The course has some rolling hills and is beautiful. The last 1/2 mile will be in the track of the Fairgrounds. The track will be cleared of that sand that is currently on it.
Where is packet pick-up?
Packet pick-up will be held at the Timonium Fairgrounds, near the race track, on Saturday, May 22 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., or Sunday, May 23 from 6 a.m. - 7 a.m.
Can I participate in raising money for the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center even if I don’t run?
Yes! Anyone can set up a fundraising page.
Is there a way to honor those who fought or are fighting cancer?
Yes, before and after the race there will be a board to sign messages. In addition, we will provide signs that you may pin to the back of your shirt.
Will there be chip timing?
Yes.
How many water stops will there be?
There will be 8 water stops, 3 with Gatorade.
Are any running stores holding training programs for this race?

How old do you have to be to run the Half Marathon?
You must be 14 years of age to run the Half Marathon.
What is the appropriate age group for the Kid’s One Mile Fun Run?
Any child over 4 years old is welcome to participate in the Kid’s One Mile Fun Run.
